Solved my problems so far
Casting quality is good and no voids were visible on the machined surfaces. I didn't find any loose aluminum chips left over from machining, though its always good to check before you install. Threads were also smooth and well cut. It has the smaller exhaust ports so its the correct turbo version and not the caterpillar excavator head. Overall really happy with the head. Only 250km since the swap but so far zero issues to report. Make sure to buy new head bolts, gaskets, O-rings, valve cover gasket, injector seals, correct thickness head gasket (notches are visible at the back of the engine by the firewall) etc. The owners of CCA sent me an email with all the links for the job, which was incredibly helpful. Pre oil the head by cranking with the injector lines loosened so it doesn't start, so as not to damage the cam or tappets. I pumped the cam with pressurized oil from the cam bolt hole with a syringe before putting the bolt in to be extra safe and have some oil on the cam journals ahead of cranking. I also oiled the cam lobes and tappets for the same reason. Great guys at the shop, great parts. 10/10
